Hibiscus tea

Vitamin C, antioxidants, and lower blood pressure

Hibiscus tea is served in many parts of the world. I've had it in Latin America, the Caribbean, and in Egypt. This refreshing drink made from the dried flower of the hibiscus sabdariffa plant is loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants. Studies show that drinking two cups of this tea each day can lower diastolic blood pressure at least 10 points. There is also evidence that hibiscus tea can aid in weight loss. This video shows a cold version of the tea, but it's also great hot. Though it can be tart, I make mine with no added sugar and I boil the flowers with a couple chunks of fresh ginger and a cinnamon stick. It's also great with mint leaves. Try your own variations of this refreshing and healthy drink. - See more at: http://www.therealfoodchannel.com/videos/healthy-foods/hibiscus-tea.html#sthash.OdgW0ato.dpuf
