As Dr. Gloria Gilbere explains, artificial sweeteners and MSG, found in many foods, are both excitotoxins. Excitotoxins are poisonous to the body: they release excessive neurotransmitters that damage nerve cells. The effects include heart palpitations, symptoms of MS and Parkinson's, and eye diseases.
