Value of high fat foods

The right balance of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates

Fad diets tend to demonize one nutrient in favor of others. Advice from fad diet proponents goes in cycles: for a while they say fats are bad, then they say carbohydrates are bad. Eat a high protein diet. No, eat a low protein diet. These approaches usually ignore that all fats are not the same, all carbohydrates are not the same, and all proteins are not the same. A diet based on high-quality whole foods, emphasizing plant-based foods, provides a balance of nutrients and a rich source of important phytonutrients.
