Antibiotics destroy your immune system - get off the drugs and repair your body

Why I Stopped Taking Antibiotics

Throughout the years I followed conventional medicine, I didn't realize that antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals were damaging my gut and my immune system - not until I crashed headlong into auto-immune disease after my second anaphylactic reaction, a reaction to an antibiotic.

The next time I became ill, I took supplements. One day my chiropractor did a kinesthetic test and told me I had strep throat. He recommended a supplement: Spanish Black Radish.

I decided to follow his treatment plan, but I wanted to prove to myself and to my medical doctor that this form of therapy worked. I asked her to give me a step test and yes, it was positive. A week later, the test was negative.

Another month passed, and I developed pneumonia. I went straight to my doctor. Pneumonia always scared me since it had nearly killed me twice, and I wanted the "big guns." My doctor, my brilliant, conventional, medical doctor suggested I go back to my chiropractor and ask what supplements to use for the pneumonia since his treatment had worked so well for the strep. She was right. It worked great. That was 20 years ago. I have never taken another antibiotic.

This is a diet filled with real, whole foods, not processed garbage devoid of nutrition.

Coconut Oil is the Brain’s Best Friend (It May Even Be the Answer to Alzheimer’s)



This article could be summed up in one sentence: coconut oil is amazing, and you should eat more of it.
Its endless list of benefits has made it a pretty hot commodity. There was even a severe coconut shortage in recent years, out of which we’re just beginning to emerge, thanks to a number of “rehabilitation” programs focused on increasing production while maintaining sustainable harvesting practices.
All this buzz is helping to change the mainstream opinion about fats. Coconut oil clearly demonstrates that there is such a thing as healthy fats—and they outshine carbohydrates in nearly every way as an energy source.
Coconut oil is full of a type of fat called medium chain triglycerides (MCT’s). When the body breaks down these fats into free fatty acids called ketones, usable energy is released slowly and efficiently. We personally include 1-3 tablespoons of it in our morning smoothie, as well. If you go this route, just don’t add any fruits, carbs, or other sugars in your smoothie. When ketones are combined with sugars, your body will always prioritize the sugar as an energy source, because it’s a quick fix. To ensure that your body is getting the most out of coconut oil, try to eat it without simple carbs whenever possible.
Putting coconut oil or MCT oil in coffee, tea, or hot cocoa is another fad that’s really caught on. The energy that this cocktail provides is outstanding, and it’s way more delicious than you might expect.
Coconut oil is also an incredible skin moisturizer. Many store-bought lotions contain all sorts of undesirable chemicals. Decades ago when food processing first began, it became regular practice to alter that which nature provided. Thus began the era of "frankenfoods."
Whole, nutritious natural foods that mostly came straight from the farm to the table were replaced by over-processed, refined and chemical laden, mass-produced convenience foods.
And fats were no different. Over four decades healthy sources of fats were replaced with vegetable oils that were thought to be "better-for-you." We now know they've done more harm than good.
The following four are the worst offenders you should avoid at all costs:


Canola - Animals and insects avoid it in nature, here's why you should too...
There is no such thing as a canola in nature. Canola oil is actually a modified version of rapeseed oil. Asian and Indian cultures used rapeseed oil for centuries, but it was never consumed in the large quantities that Americans do.
The rape plant (in the mustard family) contains cyanide-containing compounds and wild animals and even insects avoid it in nature.
The refining process of deodorizing and bleaching to become canola oil involves exposing rapeseed oil to high heat, which greatly reduces the omega 3 content (perhaps it's only original redeeming factor).
Consumption of this "GMO Oil" has been linked to muscular disorders and fatty degeneration of the heart, kidneys, adrenals and thyroid gland. To avoid it, check labels closely - even in so-called healthy products - because it's practically everywhere.
Cottonseed Oil - An industrial plant saturated with pesticides...


Thousands of commercially produced foods contain cottonseed oil; everything from canned foods to chips and other packaged items. It is even in beverages such as Gatorade. However, cotton is not a food crop, and is therefore not treated like an edible crop but an industrial one.
Virtually anything can be sprayed on cotton plants to ward off insects and induce growth. Dangerous poisons such as trifluralin, cyanide, dicofol, propargite and naled are used on cotton crops. These work their way deep into the plants, literally transforming them into toxic organisms.
While it may be ok for making pants and shirts, cottonseed oil is truly not safe to consume. The majority of cotton plants are genetically modified - altered at the molecular level. Even though we are not eating the cotton plant directly, the extracted oil contains the same properties as the plant.
Besides a high amount of omega-6 fatty acids, cottonseed oil has a similar protein structure to peanuts, so people who are allergic to peanuts may have a serious allergic reaction to this oil, as well. However, the FDA does not require an allergy label on the oil - even though peanut oils can be fatal.
Safflower - Studies show an increase of Omega-6 also increases the rate of death by heart disease, reason enough to avoid this oil...
If you still believe that saturated fat and cholesterol are a direct cause of heart disease then safflower oil probably seems like a healthy swap.
Previous studies had found that by substituting animal fats with vegetable oils such as safflower, cholesterol levels would indeed drop.
However, what the earlier studies failed to evaluate was the high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats in these oils and that the amount of omega-6 fatty acids in the American diet was growing astronomically.
Researchers now have evidence that it may not be cholesterol that kills, but omega-6's. When a group of individuals replaced animal fats with omega-6-rich safflower oil, their cholesterol levels decreased, however, the rates of death from cardiovascular disease and coronary artery disease increased significantly as compared to those consuming the animal fats.
These results prompted researchers to re-evaluate their theories on saturated fat, cholesterol and heart disease and point the finger at the formerly dubbed "heart-healthy" omega-6 fatty acid.
Soybean - The GMO, hormone disrupting nightmare "health" food they keep telling you is safe...

Oh, the ever-questionable soybean. While marketers will have you believe that soy is beneficial because our healthy Asian counterparts consume it regularly, this is arguably one of thebiggest nutritional myths out there. Asians enjoy soy in its fermented state and in considerably smaller quantities than we do.

Ninety-three percent of American soy is GMO and most of the soy we consume is in its unfermented state. This highly processed soy has been linked to numerous conditions including thyroid damage and hormone disruption thanks to its large quantities of estrogen-like compounds called phytoestrogens. As for soybean oil, up to 80 percent of the oil we consume today is soybean oil.
It's highly processed and heavily hydrogenated and found in a vast majority of products on supermarket shelves. It's best to avoid soybean oil completely.

Walnuts found to improve brain performance





(NaturalNews) The key to a better memory, less brain fog and improved overall cognitive performance could be as simple as munching on a few tree nuts every day. Researchers from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) found that consuming less than a handful of walnuts daily, or about 13 grams, helped people of virtually all ages perform better on a series of six cognitive tests that looked at brain function.

The cross-sectional study, which drew from a large sampling of the U.S. population aged 20 years to 90 years, looked at a variety of cognitive factors including simple reaction time, symbol digit substitution, single digit learning, story recall and digit symbol substitution. Each of these performance evaluations was designed to collectively capture the participants' cognitive capacities.

Upon evaluation, it was determined that those who consumed just a few walnuts daily scored better on almost every metric. This was true in every age category, and the benefits were not confined to just one gender or ethnic category. Published in the Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging, the findings are among the first to show walnut benefits in humans as opposed to just animals.

"It isn't every day that research results in such simple advice -- eating a handful of walnuts daily as a snack, or as part of a meal, can help improve your cognitive health," stated lead author Dr. Lenore Arab in a press release.

Walnuts contain unique omega-3 components not found in many other nuts

Walnuts have long been considered for their cognitive benefits, as they are rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids and other nutritive components. But it is their rich content of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based omega-3 with proven heart- and brain-health benefits -- ALA isn't found in substantial quantities in very many other nuts -- that researchers believe sets it apart.

Aging "baby-boomers" and those at risk of Alzheimer's and other debilitating brain conditions may benefit from regular walnut consumption, according to the findings, which were arrived at, at least in part, with funding from the California Walnut Commission. The overall brain benefits of walnuts appear to include a slowing of brain decline, which may help slow the aging process.

"It is exciting to see the strength of the evidence from this analysis across the U.S. population supporting the previous results of animal studies that have shown the neuroprotective benefit from eating walnuts," added Dr. Arab, according to CBS News. "And it's a realistic amount -- less than a handful per day (13 grams)."

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are about 36 million people in the world today who suffer from dementia -- and this number is expected to not just double by 2030 but triple by 2050.
